About Gridlocked
Gridlocked is a response to this era of angst and division, in which many of us refuse to listen to opposing views or engage in constructive debate. Gridlocked seeks to provide a platform for exploring ideas on how to address critical issues facing humanity, in depth and away from the ‘noise’ of social media echo chambers or fickle-natured fast-paced 24/7 news cycles.
We publish original writing, interviews and produce podcasts and documentary films that explore why the 21st Century is broken and how to fix it.
The Gridlocked vision:
To see a more equitable world, operating sustainably to ensure that future generations can inherit viable societies on a liveable planet.
Gridlocked is independent from corporate power or special interests, and seeks support and partnership from organisations in the nonprofit, academic, research institute and think tank realms who share our vision.
Gridlocked also strives to be powered by its audience, keeping us entirely free to access without ad partnerships or sponsored content. Please consider supporting Gridlocked with whatever you can afford, via our Substack page. Even if you cannot contribute financially (these are tough times!), please do subscribe for free and help us build the Gridlocked community.
Our Executive Editor
Nick O’Hara is a writer and avid walker who splits his time between southern England and northeastern Spain. He created the Gridlocked title, strapline and vision and worked with Mark Havenner, Jacopo Buongiorno and others to produce the initial docuseries podcast released in 2023. In support of the above vision, Nick’s guiding principle for Gridlocked is that stories change people – ideas, data and evidence (alone) don’t.
